Dr. Harr has more than 25 years of healthcare experience in commercial and military healthcare across various levels of care - including acute, ambulatory, sub­ acute, behavioral and long-term -  as well as payers. Dr. Harr is a savvy and dedicated healthcare executive committed to optimizing organizational performance, delivering leading-edge care, and generating exceptional, cost-effective results. He is an accomplished Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon with a reputation as a leading physician in the field of minimally invasive robotic techniques. He established an exceptional program ranked #2 in volume in the Mid­ Atlantic Region and #18 in the United States. Dr. Harr has served as a champion for the use of technology in the care delivery process.

Previously, Dr. Harr has held executive positions at WakeMed Health and Hospitals, Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, and Atrium Healthcare (formerly Carolinas Medical Center).

Dr. Harr retired from a notable military career as the Medical Officer of the  Marine Corps, at the rank of Rear Admiral. He attained an exceptional breadth and depth of experience during his 24-year parallel military and civilian career as a decorated Medical Officer and Physician (general, thoracic, vascular, trauma surgeon) in the U.S. Navy Reserve. As Commanding Officer, 4th Medical Battalion, he directed 450+ medical care personnel. 

Additionally, Dr. Harr served as a member of the Leidos-Cerner Clinical Advisory Council, representing the Navy’s interests in developing an Electronic Health Record.  This new program launched successfully across all military branches in Q2FY16.

Dr. Harr earned an MBA from Wake Forest University School of Business and a Doctor of Medicine from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He holds certification with the American Board of Surgery (Cert., 2020) and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (Cert., 2022). Dr. Harr serves as President of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine Board of Medical Alumni (2016).
